BPOA is the grass roots trade association that represents rental housing providers in the city of Berkeley. Over 500 owners and affiliated professionals are members of BPOA. Most of our members are small housing providers. Whether you own one rental unit or fifty, BPOA saves you time and money. We provide the resources and information you need to operate properly and to avoid costly mistakes. Our nonprofit association influences political decisions and defends your legal rights.

The State Bar of California is a public corporation within the judicial branch of government, serving as an arm of the California Supreme Court. All State Bar members are officers of the court. Membership in The State Bar of California affords attorneys the right and privilege of practicing law in this state. The bar’s integrated network of functions and services — many of them mandated by law — protects the public and assists attorneys in meeting their professional obligations.

The National Association of REALTORS® is America’s largest trade association, representing over 1.1 million members, including NAR’s institutes, societies, and councils, involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries. Working for America’s property owners, the National Association of REALTORS® provides a facility for professional development, research, and exchange of information among its members and to the public and government for the purpose of preserving the free enterprise system and the right to own real property.

The California Apartment Association is the nation’s largest statewide trade group representing owners, investors, developers, managers and suppliers of apartment communities. Their staff — based in Sacramento and with strategic hubs throughout California — includes experts in rental housing law, legal analysts, state and local lobbyists, member-service representatives and media-outreach specialists. For more than 70 years, CAA has served apartment owners and managers through tireless work in public affairs, education and customer service. They represent the ethical members of the rental housing industry in all aspects of government affairs within the state of California, and they provide information, products and services which contribute to the success of their businesses.

The National Apartment Association (NAA) is America’s leading voice for the apartment housing industry. They provide members with the most comprehensive range of strategic, educational, operational, networking, and advocacy resources they need to learn, to lead and to succeed. Their mission is to enable every single one of our members to fulfill his or her professional goals with great competence, speed and the highest standard of ethics. They will continue to provide the best value of any professional organization by consistently offering the greatest tangible returns.

The CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® is a statewide trade association dedicated to the advancement of professionalism in real estate. The Association develops and promotes programs and services that will enhance the members’ freedom and ability to conduct their individual businesses successfully with integrity and competency and, through collective action, promotes the preservation of real property rights. Today, the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® includes more than 100 local member Associations and more than 170,000 REALTORS®, REALTOR®-Associates and affiliate members who abide by a rigid code of professional ethics.

The RHA was founded as a legitimate 501(c)(6) trade association in 1967 under the name Apartment Owners Association of Southern Alameda County. Today they are known as the Rental Housing Association (RHA) – Serving Southern Alameda County and serve hundreds of rental property owners and operators. Their members provide over 27,000 rental homes in Alameda County. RHA is an affiliated chapter of the California Apartment Association and is their exclusive service provider in Alameda County.

The East Bay Rental Housing Association (EBRHA) is a full-service nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting fair, safe and well-maintained residential rental housing that is compliant with local ordinances and state/federal laws. They offer rental property owners and members city specific and timely education, one on one property management advice, free rental forms, networking opportunities, and advocacy at the state and local level. EBRHA supports their local members, neighbors and local businesses with community improvements and sustainability initiatives.

The Apartment Owners Association of California (AOA) has provided California apartment owners with low-cost, full-service landlord resources, and has provided professional guidance and economic benefits for apartment owners and investors throughout California. The AOA provides useful forms, seminars, and referral services for apartment owner-members as well.
